Hemerocallis 'Purple de Oro'

Purple de Oro Daylily

Formerly known by H. 'Razzmatazz'

Deciduous, Herbaceous Perennial

Hemerocallis 'Purple de Oro' is a dwarf, reblooming, perennial daylily featuring medium-sized, dark purple flowers. This compact and vigorous plant is easy to grow, with flowers that showcase narrow pie crust edges, dark purple veining, and paler purple midribs. Blooming in midsummer and reblooming from late summer to early fall, it is attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds, while deer and rabbits typically steer clear.

For optimal growth, water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish a robust root system. Once established, reduce watering frequency, as the plant tolerates mild drought. Maintain a tidy appearance and promote continuous blooming by removing old, faded foliage and spent blooms. Water occasionally once fully established, increasing frequency in extreme heat or when planted in containers. This versatile plant can be divided every few years if desired, especially once mature and established.
