Caryopteris is an easy to grow, drought tolerant deciduous shrub for hot conditions that produces blue blooms that are abuzz with bees and butterflies in late summer. It blooms on new wood and performs best if cut back to about 8 to 12 inches in late winter to encourage vigorous new growth.
