Herbaceous Perennial

Large, leathery leaves up to 12 inches across with exceptionally colorful variegation that evolve in shades of pink, purple, and bronze. Colors are especially intense in early spring. Stems are dark purple. Though primarily grown for its foliage, it does have yellow summer flowers in slender, dense racemes. Clumping habit. Best if protected from the hottest sun and kept evenly moist.
