Lush Foliage Tapestry in Warm Tones with Ferns, Barberry, and Saxifraga

This ultra low-maintanence vignette of fantastic foliage plants looks great from spring to fall—asking only for a once-a-year maintenance blitz to keep it looking good. Foliage is especially vibrant in spring when the emerging fronds of the autumn fern are especially bronzy and the new foliage of the barberry is at its brightest. The saxifrage produces a froth of delicate white blooms in late spring into summer, adding even more seasonal interest. To get the best color, it will need some sun, but does need protection from strong afternoon sun to keep the foliage from burning and/or washing out the color.
