Airy and Colorful Perennial Combination for Pollinators

I'm growing this combination of plants (and others) in a section of my front yard pollinator garden.

The summer time flowers and interesting foliage are a visual and sensory delight in addition to being tough, drought-tolerant, and alive with bees and other pollinators. Although this combination calls for Echinacea 'Big Kahuna', any number of coneflower varieties would work equally well. And this is good news because varieties come and go and are intermittently available.

If you'd like to create a relaxed, meadow-like vibe, Echinacea pallida would be a wonderful choice. To play with color and to create a more vivid floral display, choose one of the many options available based on the color palette you want to express. You can lean toward hot and zesty by using E. Sombero® Salsa Red coneflower. Using the variety E. 'Green Twister' would result in a quieter mood. Either way this vignette is a great building block for introducing color and life into your garden scenes. Have fun!
